Savory Saltine Seasoning

If you are like the average gardener (or American), you would probably rather be in your garden or exploring the outdoors than be stuck in the kitchen trying to find the perfect thing to take to a party…or even something great to make to dinner.  Check out these ideas below!


 

Our favorite quick-fix food item here in the Garden Center is the Savory Saltine Seasoning. Great for last minute entertaining or for weeknight supper plans. Besides the Saltine snack featured in the video, we have a few other recipes that are sure to become your favorites too!

24chicken-saladTex-Mex Chicken Salad

Ingredients:  ½ cup Light sour cream , 2-Tbs Thick and chunky salsa,  2 Tbs Original Savory Seasoning,  1 ½ cups Chopped cooked chicken,  1 cup Frozen corn-thawed,  ¼ cup Pitted sliced black olives-sliced,  1-sleeve Savory Saltines (30-40 crackers)

Directions:  Mix sour cream, salsa and Savory Saltine Seasoning in a medium bowl.  Add chicken, corn and  olives; mix lightly.  Cover and refrigerate until chilled.

Tip: Purchased rotisserie chicken makes this chicken salad quick and easy.

 

 

860Chipotle%20(3)Crockpot Chicken Tacos

Ingredients: 3-4 Boneless, skinless chicken breasts, chicken broth,  1 Package of Savory Saltine Seasoning (Original Flavor or Texas Chipotle for more spice)

Directions: In a crockpot, place chicken breasts in the bottom. Cover chicken with Savory Saltine Seasoning.  Add enough Chicken Broth to cover chicken (1-2 cups). Cook on low for 4-6 hours, or high for 3-4 hours. Shred the chicken with a fork and serve with your favorite taco toppings.

Options: Add chopped green chillis, chopped onion, corn,  bell peppers or diced tomatoes for more flavor. Serve as soft or crunchy tacos. Add more chicken broth to recipe to make Taco Soup.
